11th Microbiome Congress
29 Apr 2026: The 11th Microbiome R&D and Business Collaboration Congress was held at NTU One-North, where we had the opportunity to attend talks by leading microbiome researchers from Singapore and abroad and engage in valuable discussions.


Welcome, Hua & Ren Jing!
14 Apr 2026: We welcomed our new postdoc Hua and visiting student Ren Jing to the lab with a welcome dinner.


Prof Fukuda's visit to LKC
10 Apr 2026: Prof. Shinji Fukuda—Professor at Keio University and Founder and Senior Scientific Advisor of Metagen Therapeutics—visited LKC and Centre for Microbiome Medicine (CMM). We had very fruitful discussions.


2026 NTU-OMU Joint Symposium
13 Mar 2026: Following the mini-workshop held last November, we organized a Joint Symposium between Osaka Metropolitan University (OMU) and NTU. In Session 1, we focused primarily on Environmental Problems and Optoelectronic Technologies, while in Session 2, we covered Microbiomes and Biological Technologies, featuring presentations and panel discussions in both sessions.


Keystone Symposia at Banff
29 Jan 2026: We attended the Keystone Symposium held at the Fairmont Banff Springs in Banff, Canada. It was a very long journey from Singapore, taking more than a full day each way, but it turned out to be an extremely rewarding conference — we even had the chance to see the aurora by coincidence.


3rd Vascular Research Initiative
28 Jan 2026: Co-chaired by Profs. Christine Cheung and Rinkoo Dalan, the 3rd VRI was successfully held, featuring a strong lineup of international speakers, including Huang Yu, Gerald Watts, John Mamo, Dick Chan, and Mohamed Haseef.


Jiaxiong concludes his visiting scholarship
7 Jan 2026: We had a farewell dinner for Jiaxiong as he wrapped up his one-year visiting scholarship at NTU.


Christmas Party 2025
23 Dec 2025: We celebrated the holiday season together with neighboring labs and even Santa Claus.


The Microbiome Continuum: From Basic to Applied Science
9 Dec 2025: It was a pleasure to present our work at the Microbiome Continuum meeting, organized by SCELSE. I was especially delighted to reconnect with the keynote speaker, Prof. Margaret McFall-Ngai, whom I had last encountered around the time I began my postdoc at University of Wisconsin–Madison, just as she was leaving the institution.
